Cardano Retirement Calculator #1

This Cardano Retirement Calculator will determine how much ADA you need now to retire at the age of 65, staking without any withdrawals.

Instructions

1) First Step: Input the desired annual income you would like to have at the age of 65.

2) Second Step: Input your age in years.

3) Third Step: Input your expected ADA price. This is the price you think ADA might hit when you are 65.

4) Forth Step: Input an estimate of the average APY you think you might have of the pools you choose to stake in. An average staking ROI is considered in the range of 5% – 6.5%.

5) Fifth Step: Hit the calculate button.

Note

The desired annual retirement income and the expected ADA price: are in today’s dollars. Therefore, you don’t have to adjust it for inflation.

The life expectancy is 91 years (as suggested by the Chief Investment Office).

Example

Let’s assume you are a 30 years old that would love to have a 20,000 USD annually income to retire when you hit the age of 65.

Today is July 10th, Cardano is worth 1.3 USD and in 35 years from now you expect the price of 1 ADA to 30x its value, hitting around the 40 USD mark.

You support decentralization and have always stake in larger unsaturated pools, getting an average staking ROI of 5%.

To retire at 65, you would need to have right now:

Around 2200 ADA or 3,000 USD

How is that possible:

At the age of 65 by staking without any withdrawal you will have around: 12,000 ADA. Assuming Cardano 30x in value, and the price of 1 ADA reaches 40 USD, then at the age of 65 you will have about 480,000 USD (in today’s dollars), assuming a spending rate of 4% as suggested from The Chief Investment Office.

Those 480,000 USD will last you until age 91 assuming you take 20,000 USD out of those 480,000 every year.
